18-year-old Youth Dies after Pick-Up Vehicle Rams Parked Truck at Uppoor
Udupi: A 18-year-old youth died and two others were seriously injured after the Pick-Up vehicle that they were travelling in collided with a parked truck on NH 66, Uppoor here on May 19.
The deceased has been identified as Hanumanthappa(18), the son of Shivappa and Laxmamma and native of Badami.
The driver of the Pick-Up vehicle – Shivappa (22) and another daily wage worker were seriously injured, and they were admitted to Manipal Hospital.
According to the police, Hanumanthappa and others were returning from Kundapur after attending a function. The accident took place around 3.30 am when the Pick-Up vehicle rammed into the back of the truck, which was parked at the side of the road. Hanumanthappa died on the spot. Someone informed the police control room, and the injured people were taken to Manipal hospital for treatment. Brahmavara police have registered the case.
