24-year-old youth drowns at Jomlu Theertha waterfalls
Karkala: A 24-year-old youth drowned at the famous picnic spot Jomlu Teertha waterfalls at Santhekatte near Hebri here on Sunday, October 27 Evening.
The youth has been identified as Sachin Kumar Shetty (24) a resident of Kadoor, Brahmavar Taluk.
According to sources, a group of 7 members had gone to the Jomlu Teertha waterfalls in Santhekatte near Hebri on Sunday. They wanted to enjoy their Diwali holidays at the Jomlu Teertha Waterfalls, but their fun-filled trip proved disastrous because of this accident.
It is learnt that Sachin got into the water and was washed away. Locals and the Hebri Police are searching for the body and were not able to trace it till 8 pm.
A case has been registered in the Hebri Police Station.
