241 Persons Test Positive For Coronavirus in Udupi Dist on August 15
Udupi: According to the district health bulletin, 241 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Udupi on August 15 taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 7731.
Among the 241 new cases, 138 are in Udupi, 70 in Kundapur, 30 in Karkala, and 3 from outside the district.
As many as 191 cases are symptomatic and 50 are asymptomatic. Among them, 127 are male and 114 female out of which 130 persons contracted the infection from primary contacts, 40 have ILI symptoms, 0 have SARI symptoms and 71 are under investigation.
The number of active cases in the district has now gone up to 2560. So far, 5101 patients have been discharged from the hospital after complete recovery, and 77 persons have succumbed to COVID-19.
As of now, 1475 throat swab samples are pending for results, 1632 samples were sent for testing on August 15 and 1556 samples were tested negative. So far, a total of 45581 swab samples out of the 54794 have tested negative for the coronavirus.
