3 Congress Leaders Expelled from Party for 6 Yrs by DK Dist Congress Committee

 

Mangaluru : It is learnt that Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee has taken a strong decision by expelling three of its party leaders for six years on charges of anti-party activities. The debarred congress leaders are former MCC Mayor Ms Gulzar Banu, B Vishwanath and T K Thousif, who have been contesting against the Congress party in the forthcoming Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Council elections on 12 November.

President of DCC MLC K Harish Kumar speaking to media said, “We have expelled these three congress leaders from the party for six years, since we found out that they have been contesting against party’s candidates in the MCC elections. It has been proved that they have been engaged in anti-party activities. Hence, their party membership will remain suspended for six years”.

It is noted that B Vishwanath is contesting from Ward number 49 (Kankanady) against Congress candidate Praveen Chandra Alva.
