38-year-old Santhosh Shetty Dies after Car Falls into Chaulikere Pond
Udupi: A 38-year-old entrepreneur from Vakwadi died on the spot when the car he was driving lost control near Barkur here on June 21.
The deceased has been identified as Santhosh Shetty (38) from Vakwadi, and the injured has been identified as Shwetha (23).
According to the police, on June 21, Santhosh along with Shwetha was on the way to Vakwadi by car. While Santhosh was taking a deep turn, he lost control of the car which plunged into the Chaowlikere pond.
Locals immediately gathered and lifted both of them from the pond. In the incident Santhosh Shetty died on the spot and Shwetha was severely injured. Shwetha was shifted to the Manipal hospital for further treatment.
Santhosh Shetty was the owner of Shri Lakshmi Glass and Plywood at Beejadi Bypass, Koteshwar.
A case has been registered in the Brahmavar Police Station and investigation is on.
