40 Years Anniversary Celebration of St Aloysius Post Graduate-DBM

Mangaluru : The Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) Department of St Aloysius College (SAC) (Autonomous) celebrated the 40 years Anniversary on Sunday, July 21. M S Mahabaleshwar Rao, M D, and CEO of the Karnataka Bank was the chief guest at the programme and Fr Lawrence D’Souza rector of the Milagres Cathedral of Kalianpur was the guest of honour. Both were former students of PGDBM.

Fr Lawrence D’Souza, who was a student in the very first batch (1978-79) and also the first rank holder, in his address recounted the memories of the PGDBM programme and said it helped him to be an able administrator both at Fr Muller Medical College and Hospital in Mangaluru and also at St John’s Medical College in Bengaluru.

M S Mahabaleshwar Rao complimented St Aloysius College management for the services it was rendering to the society in the form of education. He said similarly Karnataka Bank was people centered and also worked for the good of the society and added that both educational institutions like St Aloysius College and banks should work together for the all-round betterment of the people.

Principal, Rev. Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, in his speech congratulated the Department of PGDBM for its valuable services rendered to the students. All the former and the present faculty members were felicitated. The former students honoured Prof Edmund Frank-Dean, PGDBM, for his services. Rector Fr Dionysius Vaz presided over the function and in his address congratulated M S Mahabaleshwar Rao and Fr Lawrence D’Souza for what they have achieved in their respective fields. Principal Dr Praveen Martiz, Registrar Dr A M Narahari and Prof Edmund Frank were also present on the dais.

Prof Edmund Frank welcomed the gathering. Dr. A.M. Narahari proposed the vote of thanks. The formal programme was followed by a short and melodious music show.
