50th Golden Jubilee Community Wedding Celebration Held at Rosario Cathedral
Mangaluru: The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) unit of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cathedral, Mangaluru, celebrated its 50th Golden Jubilee Community Wedding on September 20 with devotion and grandeur.
The celebration was jointly organised by the SSVP Mangaluru Diocese, Rosario Cathedral, parish priests, and the Christian community.
As part of the ceremony, two couples entered married life through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at the historic Rosario Cathedral in the presence of the congregation.
Holy Mass and Blessing
Rev. Msgr. Maxim L. Noronha, Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangaluru, celebrated the Holy Mass and blessed the newly married couples, praying for their happiness and a blessed married life.
Following the religious ceremony, a felicitation programme was held at Rosario Cultural Hall, followed by a fellowship meal.
Dr H.R. Fernandes, retired surgeon, attended the programme as chief guest.
Those present on the dais included Mary J. Pinto, President of the SSVP unit; Irine Martis, Secretary; V. Rev. Fr. Valerian D’Souza, Vicar/Rector; Rev. Fr. Pradeep Rodrigues; Rev. Fr. Valerian Fernandes; and Cyril Rosario, Vice-President. They extended their heartfelt wishes and blessings to the newlyweds.
The programme was compered by Linet D’Souza, Master of Ceremonies.
The community wedding was successfully conducted with the generous support and cooperation of the Christian community, clergy and parish volunteers.
The event marked a significant milestone in the charitable and service activities of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, commemorating its 50th Golden Jubilee through a meaningful celebration of marriage and community.
