7 Die of COVID-19 and 166 Persons Test Positive in DK on August 7
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 7 persons have died of COVID-19, and 166 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada district on August 7.
Out of the 166 cases tested positive, 74 persons are from Mangaluru, 25 from Bantwal, 36 from Belthangady, 13 from Puttur, 5 from Sullia, and 17 from other districts.
Out of the 166 positive cases, 19 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts. Eighty-three persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), and 13 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI). The health officials are tracing the contacts of 51 others.
So far 6881 positive cases have been reported in the district, and 208 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 3369 active cases in the district.
All the 166 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, 188 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
