70-year-old man Killed after Car Crashes into Parked Truck at Kaup
Udupi: A 70-year-old man was killed after his car crashed into a parked Goods truck on the Pangala/Kaup NH 66 here on February 28 night.
The deceased has been identified as Nagesh Kamath (70), a resident of Bharath Nagar Kaup.
According to the police, the truck was parked on the highway for repair work without any indicators. Nagesh was driving a contract car and was on his way from Pangla to Kaup when his car crashed into a truck parked on the highway.
The impact was such that the front portion of the car was fully damaged killing the driver on the spot. The locals helped in taking out the car driver from the car.
Kaup PSI Abdul Khader, Crime PSI Purushatham and the Highway police team visited the spot and moved the parked truck from the Highway.
A case has been registered in the Kaup Police Station and further investigation is on.
