Liva Miss Diva Universe – 2020 Adline Castelino accorded Grand Felicitation at Udyavara
Udupi: The winner of the prestigious ‘Liva Miss Diva Universe-2020’ Beauty Pageant that was held in Mumbai recently and being qualified to represent India in the Miss Universe competition, Ms. Adline Castelino of Udyavara was accorded a grand felicitation by ICYM Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee, Catholic Sabha and Stree Sanghattan, under the leadership of St. Francis Xavier Parish on Saturday, 29 February 2020. Ms. Adline Castelino was honoured by the parish by presenting her shawl, flowers and memento.
Lalaji R. Mendon, MLA of Kaup Constituency who was the chief guest at the welcome function said that Ms. Adline Castelino has enhanced the prestige of Udupi District by winning the coveted Liva Miss Diva Universe 2020 title. He further said that such achievements are not based merely on beauty but various other qualities that a contestant possesses.
Former MLA of Kaup Constituency, Vinay Kumar Sorake in his address said that Udupi District has been in the forefront of many achievements. It has been not only a model for other districts in the field of education, but also has gained name and fame in various other spheres. While Thanushree of Udyavar has created world record in yoga, jasmine flowers of Udupi have been famous all over the world. The patented mattugulla of Udupi is being exported to various countries of the world. By winning Liva Miss Diva Universe 2020, Ms. Adline Castelino has not only brought laurels to Udyavara but also made the name of Udyavara famous in India. He hoped that Ms. Adline Castelino would win Miss Universe title and enhance the prestige of India.
Former Minister of the Karnataka Government, Pramod Madhwaraj in his message said that the achievement of Ms. Adline Castelino in the Liva Miss Diva Universe 2020 is praiseworthy. The way she answered the questions regarding the communal harmony and her concern regarding the farmers were really heartwarming. He also wished her success in the forthcoming Miss Universe competition.
Responding to the felicitation accorded to her in her native place, Udyavara, Ms. Adline Castelino said that she had never dreamt that one day she would receive such an honour. She further said that when she answered the question regarding the communal harmony, she was complimented by all for her response. She said that the inspiration for her answer was provided by her native district Udupi.
Continuing further Ms. Adline Castelino said that she experienced such communal harmony during the welcome function. She would carry this sentiment with her when she would participate in the Miss Universe competition. The love and affection shown by people belonging to different communities of Udupi would help her in winning the title eventually. In conclusion she said that she would like to reach her aim of winning the Miss Universe title 2020 by keeping in mind her native village, Udyavara, her district, state and the nation.
Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh President Alwyn Quadros, businessman Abdul Zaleel Saheb, Udyavara Grama Panchayat President Sugandhi Shekar conveyed their compliments to Ms. Adlene Castelino. Prior to the felicitation function Ms. Adline Castelino was welcomed in the premises of St. Francis Xavier Church after a long procession that passed through Udyavara Jai Hind Road, Udyavara Township, Melpete, Guddeangadi, where Ms. Adlene Castelino waved at the crowd from the open Vehicle, she was on. On reaching the church, prayers service was held in the church.

Rolwin Aranha-Assistant Parish Priest of Udyavara, Leo D’Souza-businessman from Dubai, Melwyn Noronha-Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Leena Mendonca-President of Stree Sanghattan, Michael D’Souza-President of ICYM Golden Jubilee celebration committee, Meera Castelino mother of Adline Castelino graced the occasion.
Fr. Stany Lobo-Chancellor of Udupi Diocese welcomed the gathering, Lawrence D’Sa-President of Catholic Sabha, Udyavara proposed the vote of thanks and Steevan Culaco and Rosalia Cardoza compered the programme.
