Cheated by Lover, Girl Commits Suicide at Saibarkatte
Udupi: A 26-year-old girl committed suicide in Saibarkatte after her boyfriend allegedly sexually exploited her with a promise to marry her, but later went back on his word at Saibarkatte under the Brahmavar Police station limits. The girl committed suicide on August 21, but the family members filed a complaint against the boy after three days of her death at the Brahmavar Police Station.
The deceased has been identified as Anisha Poojary (26) resident of Saibarkatte.
According to the complaint, Anisha was in love with Chethan Shetty also a resident of Saibarkatte. The duo fell in love, and he reportedly promised her that he would marry her. Many times he took her to his residence and hotels, where he sexually exploited her. She asked him many times to marry her as he had promised and shared a physical relationship with her. Recently he declined to marry Anisha saying that his family does not agree to the marriage. Anisha was disappointed by Chethan Shetty’s decision and decided to take the extreme step.
Depressed Anisha had gone out from home on August 21 saying she was going to a house warming ceremony but never returned. Her body was found at Jamboor near Saibakatte forest area. She had committed suicide by hanging her self to a tree. Before committing suicide, she had sent a Suicide note to her friend.
Earlier the family members did not take the case seriously after the death note was found, they registered a complaint against Chethan Shetty.
The Brahmavar police have registered a case of rape, cheating and abetment to suicide against her Chethan Shetty. Chethan Shetty is now absconding. The Brahmavar Police have formed a team to nab Chethan Shetty.
The girl was a major age, how did she agree to get physical with the boy? How did her home members did not know about this? How can it be called as a rape when the girl herself went to the hotel or residence with him and had physical? What guarantee is that she was not behind for money?
