AAK ladies take A Walk in the Park!

Kuwait: A Walk in the Park at sunrise can be one of the most satisfying of all physical activities. It refreshes, rejuvenates and gets you ready to take on the entire day with enthusiasm!

‘Many people Talk the Talk; But few will Walk the Walk, be amongst those Few’ was the tag line of the AAK’s morning walk event. The members of Agnesian Alumnae Kuwait (AAK) took to “walking the walk” in the park on Saturday, 11th March 2017 in the Salmiya Garden at 6:00 am. The garden looked busier and brighter than ever with colorfully attired and energetic ladies walking cheerfully and continuously along the designated path for an hour. ‘Capture a beautiful view of your choice during the walk’ got the ladies to multi-task and capture beautiful scenes on their cameras and participate in a photo contest.

After burning off calories, the participants gathered for a fellowship which started off with a prayer led by the Liturgical Coordinator of the Alumnae, Maria Coelho. Prizes for the WhatsApp caption contest conducted on the occasion of International Women’s Day bearing in mind the theme for the year #BeBoldForChange# were distributed to the winners. Judges of the contest, Dr Vibha Shetty, Director for Training & Life Long Learning at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru and Vidya Shenoy, Entrepreneur and Mentor, Mangalore decided on the following winners:

– Tressy Coutinho : Adding bold colours to the dull world – WOMAN
– Bonita D’Silva    : Why walk when I dare to fly

Consolation Prize winners:

– Saritha Dias   : Born to fly higher
– Premilla Pinto : Keep your heels, head and standards high

Winners won Beauty & SPA vouchers at Sarina’s Parlour; an exotic parlour run by an AAK member Sarina D’Souza.

Jasmine Cutinha took the prize for the best photo capture during the walk and Reshma Lobo, for the most distance walked (6.2km) which was determined by the FITBIT app on the phone. A light South-Indian breakfast was served to all the participants. The group dispersed at 8:00 am.
