AIET to be Learning Centre for Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana

Moodbidri: Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mijar has been allotted 300 seats under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, a skill development initiative scheme of the Government of India for recognition and standardisation of skills.

Prof Harish Kunder, Coordinator for PMKVY at AIET-Mijar, informed that courses such as Automotive -CNC Operator Machining Technician, IT/ITeS Junior Software Developer, Electronics IT Coordinator in school and Electronics Field Technician – Computing and Peripherals, Automotive Lathe Operator, Construction Reinforcement Fitter, Construction Mason Concrete, Construction Mason General and Construction Assistant Mason have been approved by the National Steering Committee for PMKVY for the academic year 2017-18 at AIET, Mijar.

The aim of the PMKVY scheme is to encourage aptitude towards employable skills and increase working efficiency of probable and existing daily wage earners, by giving monetary awards and rewards and by providing quality training to them, added Prof Kunder.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
