A J Institute of Dental Sciences holds Dental Awareness and Treatment Camp for Transgenders
Mangaluru: In a first of its kind a dental awareness and treatment camp was organized exclusively for transgenders at A.J. Institute of Dental Sciences on 20 December 2019 by Department of Public Health Dentistry in association with “Parivarthan” – an NGO striving to transform the lives of transgenders.
Dr Vijaya Hegde, Professor and Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry welcomed Violet J Pereira – Managing Trustee of Parivarthan.
Awareness on Oral Health was given by Dr Pooja Shetty with emphasis on ill effects of tobacco. Dental check-up was done for all the patients and the required treatment was provided. The Patients were further asked to come for follow up treatment as and when required.
