Chennai, May 22 (IANS) Art director Kiran, who has worked behind the camera for several ad spots and Tamil films such as “Ko” and “Mayakkam Enna”, is slowly turning into a full-time actor with a slew of projects.
“I was never interested in acting. At the behest of filmmaker K.V. Anand, I played a small role in his film ‘Anegan’, and that has got me lot of offers. Some of the roles that I have been offered now are quite exciting and I didn’t feel like giving them up,” Kiran told IANS.
In Dhanush-starrer “Anegan”, Kiran played a small negative character.
“I’m playing the villain in Vishal’s ‘Paayum Puli’. In Jiiva’s ‘Thirunaal’, I’ve been offered a character with negative shades. I’m more excited about my role in Nalan Kumarasamy’s next project with Vijay Sethupathi. I’ll be playing something contrary to what I’ve been offered so far,” he said.
With nearly half a dozen projects in his kitty, Kiran says he would still like to find time to do art direction.
“Art direction is a very creative process. I have no plans to stop working as an art director. Since I’m busy acting, I’ll probably bring down the number of films where I can contribute in the art direction department,” he added.
