Asha Worker Assaulted by Husband in Belthangady
Belthangady: A Asha worker who works as a Corona warrior was assaulted by her husband at Pelattalike here on July 31.
Asha worker Bhavani on duty as Corona warrior was visiting all the houses to create awareness about COVID-19. On July 31, Bhavani, along with Anganwadi worker, visited a house near Pelattalike. At that time Bhavani’s husband Suresh from Gerukatte Bakimaru stopped and assaulted her. When the Anganwadi worker tried to stop Suresh from assaulting Bhavani, Suresh wanted to assault her, but the locals intervened and prevented him from attacking her.
Belthangady police rushed to the spot and took Bhavani to the hospital. It is suspected that a family dispute led to the incident.
