Ayodhya verdict: Udupi DC Jagadeesh appeals to Maintain Peace, Schools, PU Colleges Declared Holiday on Nov 9

Udupi:  The Udupi deputy commissioner G Jagadeesh on Friday, November 8 appealed  to the people to maintain peace in the district in regard to the Ayodhya verdict by the Supreme Court.

The deputy commissioner has asked people not to believe in rumours and warned of strict action against those who violate the law.

He also said that the district administraiton is committed to maintain peace in the district and the officials concerned have been given necessary instructions in this regard.

Meanwhile, the district administration has declared holiday to all the schools and PU colleges on November 9.

In a separate Press Release,  SP Nisha James said that, In view of the expected Ayodhya case verdict on Saturday,  December morning,  the police department has beefed up elaborate bandobast with 4 KSRP platoons and 7 DAR parties.

Meetings with all community leaders have taken place in advance to request all to accept the verdict peacefully and desist from any protest or celebratory activity.

The public is also similarly advised to show restraint and desist from posting any provocative messages on the social media. Strict legal action will follow in case of any such incidents.
