Usually, we see motorcycle/scooter riders and pillion riders wearing the helmet, but when is the last time you have seen a car or a auto-rickshaw driver wearing a helmet while driving? But here is a bizarre story- Sources reveal that auto rickshaw driver Vittala while ferrying more than three school children {there were nine children in the auto} was stopped by Puttur traffic cops and fined Rs 700. But surprisingly when Vittala noticed his fine ticket, he was totally confused why the cops had fined him for not wearing a helmet. This major goof-up was the carelessness and fault of the cop by not punching in the right code/buttons on the hand-held device.

This funny or we can call it a bizarre incident grabbed the attention of many on social media and the receipt issued by the traffic cop has gone viral. The angry driver has approached the higher police authority to look into the matter. With the receipt going viral, the traffic police said to have corrected the receipt to avoid further embarrassment.

With this incident going viral on social media, many auto-rickshaw drivers were wondering and discussing among themselves whether the government had incorporated a new rule suddenly making compulsory of helmet wearing for auto-rickshaw drivers? But anyways, no such rule is been introduced so far, but you never know, helmet rule for three/four wheeler vehicles may come soon?
