Belthangady: 61-Year-Old Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Harassment of Young Woman
Belthangady: Venur police have arrested Isaac (61), a resident of Venur, on charges of allegedly sexually harassing a young woman by making obscene remarks in a public place and offering her money.
According to the woman’s complaint, the incident occurred on the afternoon of October 24 while she was at work within the jurisdiction of the Venur police station. The accused allegedly arrived at the spot on a two-wheeler and sexually harassed her.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 75(1)(ii), 75(1)(iv), and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with relevant provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act, 2015.
The accused has been taken into custody and is being questioned. Police said they would produce him before the court for further legal proceedings.
