Bengaluru: Harshita (10), a standard IV student of a private school in Dasarahalli of Peenya, died of a heart attack while playing on the school’s ground on Tuesday.
Around 11-30 am, students had been allowed to play for physical exercise. While at play, Harshita is said to have suddenly complained of severe chest pain and collapsed.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but she died on the way.
Daughter of Manjunath and Manjula of Kalahastinagar, Harshita had a congenital problem of a hole in the heart. Family sources said that she had undergone a surgery to rectify it.
The police said that the strain while playing may have affected the heart. A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Peenya police station.
