BJP Observes Surgical Strike Bravery Day at Kadri War Memorial

Mangaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party observed the Surgical Strike bravery day at the Kadri War Memorial on September 29.

MLA of South Constituency Vedavyas Kamath welcomed the gathering.

Capt Ganesh Karnik speaking on the occasion said, “This is the day to remember all our brave soldiers who are working relentlessly to safeguard our country. Since the partition of British India in 1947, our country saw four wars namely 1948, 1962, 1965 and 1971 but our soldiers are continuously fighting against the Pakistani soldiers to safeguard our country and many have sacrificed their lives. When we observe the surgical strike bravery day, we remember the soldiers who have laid down their lives and made the supreme sacrifice for the country.”

Capt Ganesh Karnik further said, “The Pak militants had attacked the Indian army at Pathankot and Uri on 18, September in 2016 in the Indian-administered state of Jammu and Kashmir, and killed 19 soldiers. Two years ago on September 29, our country announced the Surgical strike against militant launch pads across the line of Control in the Pakistani-administered Kashmir and inflicted significant casualties. By observing this day we are proving that we are with the soldiers to increase their morale since they safeguarding our country’s borders and maintain the internal security.”

Capt Ganesh Karnik also said, “Two years ago Lance Naik Sandeep Singh, participated in the surgical strike but succumbed to injuries sustained during a firefight with the militants at Tangdhar in Kashmir’s Kupwara district on September 24. It was heartwrenching to see Sandeep Singh’s wife and son saluting and paying their last respect to her beloved husband.”

President of DK District Ex-Servicemen’s Association Vikram Datta and former president Sharath Bhandary also spoke on the occasion.

Former MLA Yogish Bhat, Monappa Bhandary, Roopa D Bangera and others were also present.
