Bunts Sangha to Institute Award in Memory of Late IPS Officer Madhukar Shetty

 

Mangaluru: A condolence meet was organized by Bantara Yane Nadavara Mathru Sangha to pay tribute to late IPS Officer Madhukar Shetty, who died of illness. Speaking on the occasion and recalling his association with IPS Madhukar Shetty former Lokayukta N Santhosh Hegde said, “Late Madhukar Shetty was an honest, sincere, brave and hardworking stalwart during his service. I had the opportunity to work with him for two years when I was the Lokayukta. He had prepared the report on illegal mining without fearing anyone. He sent a minister and his son to jail for their involvement in land encroachments. However, it is unfortunate that he has not received due recognition for his honest services that he had rendered to the state”.

Also speaking on the occasion, MLA Vedavyas Kamath said police officer Shetty had won the hearts of thousands for being an honest officer. It’s indeed a sad thing to note that such a brave, intelligent and sincere IPS officer should lose his life at that age. Chairman of AJ group of Institutions A J Shetty also speaking said, “Our country needs more sincere officials like Madhukar Shetty. Youth should follow in the footsteps of Madhukar Shetty and serve the nation with determination, integrity and honesty so that we can have a clean and corrupt free government.

Sangha’s president Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi said that their Sangha will institute an award in memory of Late Madhukar Shetty, “Social workers who render meritorious service to the society will be honoured with Madhukar Shetty Award with gold medals every year” added Ajith K Rai.
