‘Calling for Bandh by Sangh Parivar is an Insult to Supreme Court’- Poojary

Mangaluru: Leaving CM Siddaramaiah alone this time, Senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary addressing the media persons lashing at Sangh Parivar said, ” The call given by the Sangh Parivar comprising of Bajrang Dal (BD), Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Hindu Janajagruthi Vedike (HJV) and other saffron organizations is totally wrong, and it is contempt of court. These organizations are making the mockery of the Supreme Court decision and putting the nation in shame. Supreme Court is one among the other three courts in the Nation, and insulting its verdict on the Bandh issue is a shame. As per a verdict of Kerala high court, which was later upheld by the Supreme Court, nobody can give a call to hold bandh and Hartal. And any damages caused during the bandh, the organizers of the bandh have to reimburse all the loses. Then why are these members of Sangh Parivar going against the law”

Poojary further said, ” I compliment the Police Commissioner Chandra Shekar for taking all measures to ensure a peaceful atmosphere during the rally that will be addressed by the chief minister of Kerala tomorrow, and also for sending advance notices to nearly 40 leaders of the Sangh not to involve in any clashes or create any disturbances. Freedom of speech and the freedom to protest are rights of every individual as per the Indian Constitution. We cannot prevent one from making the speech and all measures will be taken to let Kerala chief minister address the rally in the city peacefully. Then why all these protests and call for bandh given by Sangh Parivar- it is nothing but senseless. Police should take strict action against anyone involving in untoward incidents.”

“Ensuring peace in the district should be the main aim of all organisations, either be Sangh Parivar, BJP or Congress. Giving bandh or hartal call reflects their destructive mentality. They cannot be considered as social leaders. Police should prove that they are efficient to ensure peace during the rally on February 25. Former CM and State BJP chief Yeddyurappa are making baseless allegations. It is unbecoming of a former CM to make such wild allegations against CM Siddaramaiah. He is making a big deal about a diary found following Income Tax searches conducted a few months ago at properties belonging to a close aide of CM Siddu. These allegations by Yeddyurappa are baseless and irresponsible. If he has the guts he should reveal all the details found in the diary by this evening or must quit politics if he cannot prove the allegations” urged Poojary.

“Yeddyurappa alleged that Siddaramaiah gave the money to the party to meet resources and that Siddaramaiah’s deals will be exposed when details of the diary emerge soon through investigations by the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI. Yeddyurappa alleged that the MLC from whom the diary was found was the conduit for payments in Delhi. Let him prove his statements and expose it to the 135 crore people of India rather than blabbering all the time, which doesn’t make any sense. Let him come with all the facts and proof as to what he is pointing at which is found in the diary” added Poojary.

Also speaking on the Yetthinahole project, Poojary said that money has been misused and many are pocketing it in the name of the project. Poojary warned that if the Yetthinahole project is not dropped soon, he will go on a Hunger strike at the Kudroli Temple soon. Congress representatives Kallige Tharanath Shetty, Arun Coelho were among others present during the meet.

  1. In this case you are mr.Janardhan Poojary. Why cant anybody file petition for such cases. For unwanted matters some people go for High Court to get justice by filing PIL petition. But in such cases why all are silent. Anyway we have to appreciate the action taken by our Police Commissioner in this regard.
