Catholic Sabha Delegation Seeks SIT Probe into Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary Firing

Mangaluru: The Catholic Sabha of the Mangalore Diocese, along with a Christian delegation led by Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Ivan D’Souza, has expressed deep concern over the tragic incident in the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary in Hanur Taluk of Chamarajanagar district, where forest officials allegedly opened fire, resulting in the deaths of three persons.

The delegation met Karnataka Forest Minister Ramalinga Reddy and urged the government to order a proper and impartial inquiry by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the incident and take appropriate action against those found responsible.

The delegation also appealed to the Minister to provide suitable compensation to the families of the deceased, who belonged to economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The delegation comprised Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh President Santhosh D’Souza, Political Convenor Stany Lobo, Vice-President Steven Rodrigues, and Alphons Fernandes.
