Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh Holds Annual General Body Meeting
Mangaluru, August 16, 2026: The Annual General Body Meeting of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh® for the year 2025–26 was held on August 16 at the Milagres College Auditorium in Mangaluru.

The meeting commenced with a prayer, followed by a tribute and prayers for the departed members of the organisation who had rendered their dedicated service during the past year.
Mr Santhosh D’Souza, President of the assembly, welcomed the gathering. Mrs Vilma Monteiro, General Secretary for 2026–27, read the minutes of the previous Annual General Body Meeting and presented the annual report. Mr Francis Monteiro, Treasurer, presented the financial accounts, while Rev Fr Ivan Michael Rodrigues, Spiritual Director, delivered his message.
Addressing the gathering, President Santhosh D’Souza extended his best wishes to all office-bearers and activists of the association for their selfless service. He called upon members to respond promptly whenever issues arise at the unit level. He highlighted that Catholic Sabha is a strong organisation representing the common people of the community.

Expressing deep concern and condemnation, D’Souza alleged that certain individuals opposed to the organisation’s growth had been attempting to defame Catholic Sabha, its president and office-bearers by circulating misleading messages on WhatsApp.
He clarified that all accounts of the organisation are systematically audited by internal auditors, presented and approved at monthly meetings, and subsequently audited annually by chartered accountants. The audited financial statements and balance sheet are then presented at the Annual General Body Meeting. He affirmed that all financial transactions are maintained with complete transparency.

He urged members not to forward unverified or baseless messages without understanding their context and intent, and appealed to them to exercise responsibility while sharing information on social media.
During the meeting, units and zones that recorded the highest membership registrations during the past year were recognised and awarded. Units that made significant contributions through subscriptions and advertisements for the organisation’s Amcho Sandesh magazine were also honoured.
General Secretary Vilma Monteiro proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by lunch.
