CCB Police Bust Prostitution Racket, Two Arrested, 2 Girls Rescued

Mangaluru: The CCB police busted a hi-tech prostitution racket being operated through the internet from an apartment in Kottara Cross Road, Bejai Kapikad here, on June 22.
The arrested have been identified as Jeevan Poojary (27) from Padupalimar Udupi and K P Nagaraj (27), a native of Hassan.
On getting information from reliable sources that a hi-tech prostitution racket was being operated from an apartment in Kottara Cross road through http: mangalore.locanto.net website, the CCB police raided the apartment and arrested two persons.
The accused mentioned their contact number in the website. If any customer would call the number, the accused would supply them girls. During the raid, the police rescued two girls and sent them to the rehabilitation centre.
The CCB police seized two mobile phones, a two-wheeler and Rs 30,220 from their possession. The accused have been handed over to the Urwa police station for further investigation. The search is on for two more pimps who are involved in the crime.
Under the direction of police commissioner T R Suresh and under the guidance of DCP Law and order Hanumantharaya and DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth the operation was carried out by the CCB police Inspector Shantharam Kundar, Kabbal Raj, Urwa police Inspector Ravish Nayak and team.
