CCB Police Raid Homestay at Adyar, Arrest 21 persons and Seize Rs 18 Lakhs
Mangaluru: The CCB police raided a Homestay at Adyar and arrested 21 persons who were involved in gambling on January 14.
The arrested have been identified as Melwyn Vishwas D’Souza, Sharath Kumar, Guruprasad, Raja, Muhammad Haneef, Shivaraj, Anwar, Adarsh, Radhakrishna Nair, Arwin D’Souza, Mahadevappa, Kumaranath Shetty, Alwyn Richard, Ganesh V S, Preetham alias Prashanth, A B Basheer, Savan, Nitin D’Souza, Abid Hussain, Denzil Vickson D’Souza and Muhammed Haneef.
On January 14, on getting information about gambling at Adyar Hills Homestay, the CCB police raided the Homestay and took into custody 21 persons who were involved in gambling. Police also seized Rs 18.37 Lakh cash, 8 cars, 1 auto-rickshaw and 24 mobile phone all worth Rs 86.47 lakh from their possession.
The owner of the Homestay Suresh Shetty is now absconding. All the arrested have been produced before the court.
A case has been registered in the Kankanady Town Police Station.
