Central Govt should Clarify Stand on Supreme Court Decision on SC/ST Reservation – U T Khader

Mangaluru: “The Central government should clarify its stand on the judgement by the Supreme court on the reservation with the appointment and promotion of SC /ST. The central government should discuss this issue seriously and file a review petition or implement an ordinance. Prime minister Modi speaks high about B R Ambedkar but all his friends, MPs and MLAs speak against the Constitution. Some of them say that the constitution should be burnt, or changed and Modi or BJP leaders did not take any action against them. The Central government should clarify its stand about the fundamental rights”, said the former minister and MLA of Ullal Constituency U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on February 13.

Addressing the mediapersons U T Khader said, “To bring equality among all citizens, the reservation was promoted in favour of the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes. Now those who are under the reservation will be affected because we never know the hidden agenda of the BJP. Many BJP MPs are demanding the cancellation of the reservation, one BJP chief and former governor has approached the court to revoke reservation”.

U T Khader further said, “When there is a reservation, people from backward communities, SC, ST and minorities will come to the mainstream. Discrimination is not fair. We have trust in the Supreme court in getting justice but the state and the central government are weak in defending the reservation policy. The Central government should clarify its stand and file a review petition. This is a testing dose for society.”

Speaking on the price hike for gas, U T Khader said, “The price for gas has been hiked from Rs 697 to Rs 845 due to which the middle-class people will suffer more. At present when unemployment is high and people are facing financial crises, hike in the price of gas will put everyone in trouble. Until the results of the Delhi elections were out, the BJP government did not hike the price for gas. As soon as the results were out, all of a sudden the price for gas was hiked. People of Delhi have understood the hidden agenda of the BJP and voted for AAP. Throughout the election process, BJP did not speak about development, they spoke only about Kashmir, Ram Mandir, Babri Masjid, CAA and NRC. People are not fools, they voted for AAP and have given their verdict. “
