CHD Group & Mennabettu Grama Panchayat Medical Mission held

Mangaluru: The CHD Group along with the Mennabettu Grama Panchayat completed its rural medical mission today amidst heavy rains. Around 85 patients were treated, counselled and referred appropriately. School children in the government schools were evaluated for ailments.

CHD Group along with National Health Mission and ONGC-MRPL have been conducting their flagship medical missions along with Panchayat Raj Institutions in Mangaluru Rural.

In the previous editions, faith-based coalitions like temples and churches were also involved to promote and build health-seeking behaviour among the populace. CHD Group has been working at the grass-root level and also engaging in the policy discussion at global levels to build the bridge and bring forth a meaningful convergence of translational policies.

The Group has been working with Government Departments, United Nation Agencies, Public Sector Units, Corporate partners, and select visionary academic institutions in different regions of the country in improving health indicators and building public health risk reduction strategies.

Professor Clarence Miranda, retired principal of Pompei College, has been instrumental in facilitating the exercise. Dr Rachit Sharma, Dr Sanjay Kini, Dr Edmond Fernandes, Cynthia and Rickson were others present from CHD Group.

Sarojini, the Grama Panchayat President, along with ward members were present during the medical mission. Wenlock District Hospital and the District Health and Family Welfare Office are the district level government partners.
