CM Should Resign if he Loves Congress – Poojary

Mangaluru: “If Chief Minister Siddaramaiah truly loves Congress Party, let him resign from the CM’s post,” said senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary in a press meet held at the District Congress Office here, on July 14.

Addressing the mediapersons, Poojary said, “Being an advocate himself and after practising law, CM Siddaramaiah should know what a First Information Report is. Any person will not lie before he dies. DySP Ganapathi, before committing suicide, had clearly mentioned the names of three persons in a TV interview. The entire world is watching the statement of Ganapathi. He had mentioned the names of minister K J George, Mohanty and Prasad. He had also clearly stated that the above three should be held responsible if anything wrong would happen to him.”

Poojary further questioned, “Why does the CM not want an FIR filed against K J George and the two officers? Why is the CM protecting the three? Why is he not considering the dying declaration of Ganapathi? Why is he targeting Ganapathi’s wife? Why is the CM trying to become a saviour to K J George?”

He further stressed that the media has been highlighting the failures of Congress and has started a poll through SMS as to whether the people trust the Congress or not. According to the polls, 99% of the people in the state do not believe in the Congress government. “People of the state hate you and in the next elections, you will get the results,” he added.

Poojary said that Ganapathi’s wife was also being harassed. “Ganapathi’s wife Pavana was in Madikeri but her statement was not taken by the government. The investigating officers have taken the statement of Ganapathi’s father and brother. The CM is defending K J George, Mohanty and Prasad,” he alleged.

He also said that if the CM does not resign from his post, the Congress high command would drop him. “There are a number of good leaders in the party capable of becoming the CM. When Siddaramaiah completed three years, he dropped Vinay Kumar Sorake from the post of a minister. What has Sorake done wrong to be dropped out of the cabinet? Now it is CM Siddaramaiah’s turn to be dropped by the high command. Power is not permanent. Siddaramaiah thinks that the CM’s post is permanent. He has completed three years; let someone else be the CM. There are many capable senior leaders like S M Krishna, S R Patil, Ugrappa, Mallikarjuna Kharge and others.”

Poojary also informed the media that attempts are being made to sack him from the party. Arun Coelho, Kallige Taranath Shetty, Appi and others were also present.

  1. “Why is he not considering the dying declaration of DySP Ganapathi?” – Report quoting Jannanna.

I suggest Jannanna approach his own party’s elected rep who recently held a press conference on the same topic.
