CM Siddaramaiah Should Withdraw his ‘Terrorist’ Statement- Puranik
Mangaluru: “The Congress party is aware that it will lose in the forthcoming elections and so out of desperation the CM his giving statements like “the BJP and RSS are terrorists”. Being in a responsible position, comparing Hindu organizations to terrorists for his political gain is not good. The CM Should withdraw his statement immediately since RSS is a patriotic organization”, said the Convener of VHP M B Puranik in a press meet held at VHP office here on January 12.
Addressing the media persons Puranik said, “CM Siddaramaiah in his statement compared RSS and BJP to terror organizations, it is an anti-Hindu statement. He does not have the capacity to call the organizations that indulge in heinous crimes as terrorist organizations. As soon as he realized the damage he had done with his statement he twisted it. Now when the elections are nearing CM Siddaramaiah for the first time announced that he is a Hindu. If he is a real Hindu he would have taken action against the cow slaughters. Instead, CM Siddaramaiah himself says that he consumes beef which is a personal matter and supports slaughtering of cows. Real Hindus do not consume beef”.
M B Puranik further said, “After taking charge as the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddarmaiah has visited Udupi several times but never visited the Sri Krishna Math. When asked the CM says that “I will not visit the place where Kanakadasa was insulted”. If Kanakadasa is highly respected anywhere in the country it is only in Udupi. How can the CM claim that he is a Hindu? CM Siddaramaiah visited the holiest place Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala after consuming non-veg, is he a Hindu? CM Siddaramaiah has criticized UP CM Yogi Adityanath which is an insult to the people of Karnataka and their tradition”.
M B Puranik also said, “In the Coastal district there are a number of cases of love jihad and illegal cow slaughtering which the government has failed to curb thus leading to communal violence in the district. During the Dharma Sansad, food was not provided to the attendees but the food was provided for the participants of Sadhana Samavesh in Kundapur and Udupi. The CM gives anti-Hindu statements at government programmes and sows the seeds of poison in the minds of the people.”
“The Chief Minister should apologize for his “Terrorist” statement against the RSS, VHP and Hindu organizations because RSS and the Sangha Parivar are working hard for the welfare of the Hindu community. Comparing PFI and KFD to Bajrang Dal and RSS is a madness because RSS is a patriotic organization. We hope that the CM will apologize for his statement and help in creating peace in the society”, said Puranik.
District VHP President Jagadish Shenava, Bajrang Dal President Sharan Pumpwell, Bhujang Kulal, Manohar Suvarna and others were also present.
