‘Conclave of Intellectuals’ with JD(S) Supremo H D Kumaraswamy in Mangaluru on 6 March

Mangaluru: At a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands-Mangaluru, Former State Minister Amarnath Shetty addressing the media persons said, ” I am glad to announce that Former CM of Karnataka and President of Karnataka State Janata Dal (Secular H D Kumaraswamy will be in Mangaluru on March 6, 2018, and will interact with media persons at Hotel Taj Gateway-Bunder Road-Mangaluru at 9.30 am. He will answer any questions pertaining to civic issues, but no political discussions will be entertained”

“The people of Coastal Karnataka with their creativity, hardworking nature and intelligence have contributed a lot for the development of our country. But we are not able to harness the overall growth of these districts. It’s time now to address the issues and become a part of policy making body by involving ourselves. Your ideas and expertise should be motivating factors to those whom are in helm of affairs. In this backdrop, the Forum has convened a “Conclave of Intellectuals” with H D Kumaraswamy. So please spare your precious time to build a Better and Beautiful Coastal Karnataka by joining in this interaction” added Shetty.

He further said, ” One of the hall marks of liberty is the equal opportunity it offers to all citizens irrespective of cast and religion. To create and build a healthy Nation all across sections of the society, we should all play a creative role. Of late the very fabric of our pluralistic society is in danger which will harm the roots of democracy. The policy of governance is mostly decided by the bureaucrats, politicians and technocrats. We at Forum Democracy believe that a responsible citizens have to assume leadership roles in our day to day lives. Strong commitment to principled action is the responsibility of every person specially, the Intellectuals, leaders of community, professionals and literary laureates. Life is not a spectator sport, when we fail to get involved we also lose the right to criticize.”

Mohammed Kunhi, Akshith Suvarna, Ms Bharathi and Vasanth Poojary of J D (S) were also present during the press meet.
