  1. This is exactly why I stay away from religious nutcases. India is doomed for two reasons:
    1. We believe in too many superstitions and any rational/logical questioning is censored by govt, society and media, Critical thinking is almost dead in our society.
    2. Without realizing the real meaning of ‘secular society’, we have been encouraging bad behavior of minority community for decades. This has resulted in equally bad behavior in Hindu community as well.

  2. I’m consistently against peddling religious values over humanist constitution based on equal rights. India needs to stay secular and emphasize more and more on science, critical thinking and reasoning. Here is a clip from UK proving how pseudo-secular culture can result in minority arrogance.

  3. No Sadhu or sadhvi or mullahs or priest should indulge in provocative speech. That of course includes the rowdy politicians.

  4. I read a lot, use of my brains for logical thinking and consider politics and religion to be a big, big business involving billions of dollars and if you have gift of the gab, you can fool millions of naive people, who depend on others to lead them by the hand.

I am not a guy who gets away by some evangelical preachers’ fiery speeches, because that is all they can do. They cannot perform miracles to provide bread, water, food, shelter or any other help to desperately poor people. At the most, they will urge their congregations to sincerely pray to God and invoke his help.

At the turn of this century, I saw Dr. Zakir Naik, the Islamic evangelical speaker talking about the superiority of Islam and denigrating other religions. After I heard him on two or three occasions on the electronic media, I realized most of the people listening to him were semi-literates and just a few educated persons who could be counted on one’s finger tips would ask him some pertinent questions which he would answer, but they would not counter his answers to avoid unpleasantness or arguments. Moreover, with this speeches, reciting the chapters and verses from various holy books (though I cannot say whether he was reciting correctly or bullshitting), he had regimented the hordes of people who had assembled there and these people could turn out to be highly hostile to any sane persons.

It was then I felt that this man is a BIG FRAUD and why is the Central and State Governments allowing him to continue with his nefarious activities and not investigating his sources sources of funds/incomes and where he spends the money. Now, he has been exposed and just in India, he has 37 properties. SO SWEET! IN THE GUISE OF SERVING HUMANITY, HE HAS AMASSED WEALTH – LEFT, RIGHT AND CENTRE. There may be fanatical elements, who may have given him properties, especially in Islamic countries.

If India wants to become a dynamic and modern day economy and look forward to the future with optimism and confidence, then we cannot run with hares and hunt with hounds. We just cannot encourage divisive elements like Sadhvi Saraswati and she needs to be warned and her wings clipped. Forget about Karnataka, whose Chief Minister, Siddharamiah, appears to be proud, arrogant and, who knows, filled with sleaze, but Manohar Parikkar is a metallurgist from I.I.T., Bombay – doing engineering from this institution is considered to be the world’s best, and how did he permit this lady to make fiery speeches. Then, in Goa one will see undesirable characters like Pramod Muthalik, Pravin Tongadia and the ilk.

A sadhu has been made the Chief Minister of U.P. and very soon, one may seen Mohan Bhagwat as the President. Is India being run like a Mickey Mouse outfit? Why did Mohan Bhagwat visit Rashtrapati Bhawan? They say that even beggars have big dreams.

  5. I wish to give you a word of advice. If the government is seriously thinking of progressing the country, it should invest a lot on education and get rid of educational trusts run by netas to fill up their coffers. Netas have insatiable and never-ending appetite for money and there is no end to it. Netas consider themselves to be the most superior breed in the country. Very few netas have quality education and majority of them are criminals, have criminal cases, bootleggers, thieves and you name it and you get it. Most of them have one common thread running in them – corruption. Considering the quality of netas, they are no way superior to scientists, professors, teachers, engineers, accountants, doctors or, for that matter, any professional or worker working hard and earning by the sweat of his brow.

All people should be thought to THINK AS INDIANS FIRST and after that religion should come later and should be solely confined to temples of worship and homes. If this is done, there is no need for indulging in vote bank politics like quotas for S.T., S.C., O.B.C. Anyone presently getting facilities under this quota should continue getting it, but if government is wise it should put a brake to these quotas and help any Indian who lives Below the Poverty Line irrespective of his religion by way of help in education, loan to start business, discount in transport, etc.
