Date of trial for Bhaskar Shetty Murder Case fixed on December 23

Udupi: The Principal District and Sessions Court on Tuesday decided to fix the date of trial in the Bhaskar Shetty murder case on December 23.

The district session judge Venkatesh Naik held a Video conference with the three main accused in the murder case – Rajeshwari Shetty, Navneet Shetty and Niranjan Bhat who are in Prappana Agrahara Bengaluru.

During the Video conference, Principal Public Prosecutor Shanthi Bai and Arun Bangera advocate of Rajeshwari Shetty were present.

Due to security reasons Rajeshwari, Navneet and Niranjan were not brought to Udupi district.

On October 23, the charges were read out in the court against all the five accused in the case. But all of them denied the charges. Hence the court had fixed November 28 to decide on the date of the trial.

On November 28, Advocate Arun Bangera argued that the COD has yet to submit the additional charge sheet and the investigation is still pending. On these grounds, he appealed to the court that not to fix the trial date.

After hearing Advocate Arun Bangera’s argument the district judge decided to fix the date of trial in the Bhaskar Shetty murder case on December 23.
