DCIB police Crack Subramanya Bhat Murder case, One arrested

Sullia: The DCIB and Sullia police have arrested a youth on September 12, in connection with the murder of Subramanya Bhat in Sullia.

The arrested has been identified as Ashith (20) a resident of Sullia.

According to the police, Subramanya Bhat (58) was living alone in his house in Pambethady after his wife had left him in 2007. On September 7, Subramanya’s brother Radhakrishna received a call from Ramachandra saying that they had not seen Subramanya Bhat from 10 days. Immediately Radhakrishna went to his brother’s where he found smell emanating from within the house with the front door locked. He at once informed his other family members. On September 8, with the help of the neighbours, Radhakrishna climbed the roof and entered the house. Inside they saw Subramanya Bhat’s body in a decomposed state.

Radhakrishna filed a complaint in the Subramanya police station and the police registered a case under section 302 IPC number 47/18.

The SP of DK Dr Ravikanthe Gowda formed two teams to investigate the case. The DCIB police inspector along with the Sullia Circle Inspector finally succeeded in arresting the accused.

Under the able direction of Dr Ravikanthe Gowda, Additional SP Sajith V J and Puttur Sub division DySP Srinivas, the operation was carried out by the Sullia Circle Inspector Satish Kumar, DCIB Inspector Sunil Y Naik, Bellare PSI Eerayya, PSI Subramanya Gopal, PSI Sullia Manjunath, Madhav Kudlu, ASI Bhaskar, Krishnayya, Karunakar, Balakrishna, Umesh, Sathish, Naveen, Manjunath, Punith, Anand Naik, Narayan, Vasu Naik, Laxman K G, Iqbal A E, Uday Rai, Praveen M, Taranath, Uday Gowda, Praveen Rai, Shona and Suresh.
