Falling in love without realizing the need of family security and sustenance could be hazardous.

A sad case of a young girl student ending her life for a frivolous reason has been reported from Hanagal village in Somwarpet taluk of the district.

Sandhya (19), a second year BBM student in a college in Kushalnagar, was in love with one Naveen of Somwarpet.

She had phoned him on Wednesday around 11 am and asked him to call back to speak to her at leisure. But he messaged back that he did not have enough currency for making calls and hence would call back later.

She messaged him over and over and told him bluntly that if he failed to call back at once she would commit suicide.

He consoled her and asked her not to take any drastic step. Finally, he managed to charge his phone with currency around 1-30 and called her.

In spite of calling five times, she did not respond. Worried by her silence, he rushed to her house. The house was locked from inside and there was no response.

When the door was broken open, she was found hanging from the roof using a veil.

He brought her down and took her in an autorickshaw to the hospital. She was already found dead. Her mother complained to the police that Sandhya had ended her life and that Naveen was with him, which circumstance created a suspicion about him.

Her relatives too bashed him up before handing him to the police, who have now registered a case against him.

Her father, Shashidhar, on hearing of her death, suffered a shock and had to be hospitalized.
