Devotees Perform ‘Ede Snana’ in Sri Krishna Temple Udupi

Udupi: The devotees took part in the Ede Ede Snana—a ritual of rolling over the Prasadam offered to the deity of Subrahmanya at the Sri Krishna Temple on Friday, November 24.

Ede Snana is a modified version of Made Made Snana (a ritual of rolling over the food eaten by the upper caste) which has been stayed by the Supreme Court.

During the ritual on Friday, the Prasadam was first offered to the deity, which was kept on the plantain leaves, the devotees then rolled over the Prasadam. Later the devotees took part in the Ede Snana to fulfill their vows. After the Ede Snana, the Prasadam was offered to the Temple cows.
