Udupi: The Udupi district Congress on March 14, demanded the party high command to allow the Congress candidate to contest the Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency.

As per the agreement between Congress and JD(S) the Udupi – Chikkamagaluru seat has been reserved to the JD(S) which was created a lot of anguish between the Congress party workers.

The District Congress committee held an emergency meeting at the Congress Bhavan on Thursday, March 14. The meeting was chaired by the district Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor.

Speaking on the occasion Ashok Kumar Kodavoor said, “in Udupi – Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency the JD(S) party has no peoples’ representatives in the Panchayat level and is also not active at the block level.
