DK Records Highest Single-day Spike of 147 Coronavirus Cases 

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district has recorded the highest single-day spike of 147 coronavirus positive cases, on July 5.

From the past week, the number of positive cases in the district has rapidly increased.

On July 4, the number of positive cases in the district was 1095 and 22 deaths. On July 5, the number of positive cases has reached 1242.

Out of the 147 positive cases, eight persons had returned from UAE Saudi Arabia and Muscat. Seven persons had travelled from Maharastra. Two persons had travelled by ship from Malaysia, and thirty-five persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts.

Forty persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), and two persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI). The health officials are tracing the contacts of three others. Forty-eight persons had tested positive during a random test, and five persons had tested positive during the pre-surgery test.

All the 147 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, thirty-seven persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.

    I feel bad for the next generation. They have to suffer the crimes of their parents and grandparents.
