Donate Blood & Save Lives: NCC Wings of St Aloysius College organise Blood Donation Camp

Mangaluru: The NCC Wings of St Aloysius College,18 Kar Bn NCC, 5 Kar Naval Unit NCC and 6 Kar Air Sqn NCC Mangaluru in collaboration with Regional Blood Transfusion Centre – Wenlock District Hospital Mangalore organised a Blood Donation Camp at Sahodaya hall at St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. Dr Alwin D’Sa Registrar St Aloysius College, Dr Charles V. Furtado, Director of the administrative block of the college, Dr Disha, Medical Officer of the Blood Bank, Mr Anthony, Incharge of the Blood bank, Subedar Fakruddin PI staff of 18 Kar Bn NCC, ANOs of all three NCC wings Capt Shakin Raj, Lt Cdr Hariprasad, Fg Offr Alwyn Stephen Misquith were present at the venue.

Anthony, in charge of the Blood bank, spoke about the importance of blood donation in his opening address. He remarked about how Blood Donations has become an important voluntary service due to the increasing supply gap in the nation. Dr Alwin D’Sa, Registrar of the college in his presidential address congratulated the donors for making the right decisions to save lives. CSUO Aashna Rai of NCC Air Wing was the MC for the inauguration programme and also welcomed the gathering. Cdt Kshithi Manai of the NCC Army Wing proposed the vote of thanks.

Cadets of all three NCC wings and the staff of Wenlock Blood Bank helped in conducting the camp in an orderly manner. More than 160 donors showed interest in donating blood. A total of 141 units of blood were collected from eligible and healthy donors after completing the necessary tests.
