Extreme Makeover! Renovated Milagres Jubilee Hall inaugurated by Bishop Aloysius

Mangaluru: The Milagres Jubilee Hall closed for few weeks during the Lent season, when no Catholic weddings take place, got renovated and ready to go for more events to take place, including Catholic Weddings etc post Easter. The renovation work which started during the month of February and March 2018, just got completed few days ago- and the newly renovated hall at Milagres Jubilee Hall on Falnir Road, Hampankatta-Mangaluru here was blessed by Bishop of Mangaluru diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza on Friday, April 6, 2018, amidst Milagres Church resident priests, Milagres Church board members and well-wishers.

Renovated at a whopping cost of nearly Rs three crores, at least now sitting inside the hall during the scorching summer weather, one can stop whining about feeling hot, since the entire hall is completely transformed into a Air Conditioned facility. So there is no option while booking the hall- AC or Non-AC, strictly Air Condition- and as per the church management, they have not jacked up the rent enormously, but increased a little bit more than the previous rent, before the hall was renovated. A new water fountain at the entrance adds beauty to the renovated hall. The parish pastoral council under the leadership of parish priest Fr Valerian D’Souza led the renovation work on the 12-year-old hall so as to cater to the needs of people in a better way.

Addressing the gathering, Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza said, “I had several queries from people asking for air-conditioned hall for Catholic weddings. Hence, I requested Fr Valerian D’Souza to take up the renovation work here. We should provide the best service for people. People these days prefer air-conditioned hall due to the hot climate. This hall has been modified as per the needs of the people. This hall has been the center of attraction for all.”

Prior to the formal function, a short prayer was conducted by Fr Edwin Santhosh Monis-Assistant Parish Priest; joined by Fr Valerian D’souza- Parish Priest of MilagresChurch; Fr Michael Santhumayor, Fr Anil Alfred D’souza, Fr Maxim D’souza, Fr William Gonsalves and Fr Gregory W Vas- all of them Milagres Church resident priests.
