Father Muller Commissions State-of-the-Art FUJIFILM Advanced 4K Multi-LED Endoscope System
Mangaluru: Reinforcing its commitment to delivering world-class healthcare through advanced technology, Father Muller Medical College Hospital (FMMCH), a unit of Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), commissioned the FUJIFILM Advanced 4K Multi-LED Endoscope System at the Gastro Suite (Room 3) on July 24.
The inaugural ceremony was led by Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, who ceremonially inaugurated and blessed the newly acquired high-end endoscopy system in the presence of the FMCI Management Committee, faculty members, residents, nursing personnel, and staff of the Departments of Surgical and Medical Gastroenterology.
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo expressed his delight that the institution has been continuously introducing state-of-the-art medical technologies throughout the year. He noted that every technological advancement introduced at the hospital is designed to enhance patient care and improve clinical outcomes.
“Technology must always translate into better healing and better clinical outcomes. Every sophisticated machine we acquire should help us serve our patients with greater precision, compassion, and efficiency. Our mission of ‘Heal and Comfort’ must be experienced by every patient who walks into this hospital, especially those receiving care in this advanced gastroenterology suite,” he said.
Providing an overview of the newly commissioned system, Dr. Ganesh M. K., Professor and Head of the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, said that the FUJIFILM Advanced 4K Multi-LED Endoscope System with the ELUXEO 8000 Processor is among the most advanced endoscopic imaging platforms available in the region. The system offers ultra-high-definition 4K imaging, advanced Multi-LED illumination technology, enhanced visualization modes for the early detection of gastrointestinal lesions, superior colour reproduction, and improved vascular and mucosal assessment, enabling clinicians to diagnose gastrointestinal abnormalities with greater accuracy and confidence.
Dr. Ganesh also announced the expansion of the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology through the establishment of two specialised sub-units—the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary & Liver Transplant Unit, headed by Dr. Ganesh M. K., and the Colorectal Proctology Unit, headed by Dr. Nagarjun Rao H. T. These units are expected to further strengthen the hospital’s advanced gastrointestinal surgical services.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Nagarjun Rao H. T., Associate Professor, Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, who also compered the event. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Abhijna Soori, Assistant Professor, Department of Surgical Gastroenterology. Dr. Sudheer K., Associate Professor, Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, was also present.
Among those present were Dr. Ganaraj Kulamarva, Medical Gastroenterologist, and Dr. Shiva Prasad, Consultant Medical Gastroenterologist, who joined the department in witnessing the commissioning of the advanced equipment.
