Final Year MBBS Student from Sastan Commits Suicide in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: A medical student committed suicide by hanging herself in the hostel room here on December 26.

The deceased has been identified as Ambika Aithal (22) from Yedabettu, Sastan.

According to the police, on December 26, Ambika hanged herself to the ceiling fan at her hostel room. She was a final year MBBS student of a reputed Medical College in Mangaluru.

The Kadri Police lowered the body and sent it for post-mortem. A death note was found in the hostel room, stating, “I enjoyed a lot in the beginning and now I am suffering. I cannot concentrate on my studies.”

A case has been registered in the Kadri police station.

  1. So sad. She obviously needed counseling. I wonder why the college authorities focus only on the fees they can collect.
