ISO 15189:2012 is a standard that provides the specific requirements for quality and competence that are particular to medical laboratories. The standard promotes global harmonization of medical practices. It protects the health & safety of patients and healthcare providers, supports the efficient exchange of information and protection of data in addition to the overall improvement in the quality of care.

ISO:15189 is used by laboratory customers, regulatory authorities and accreditation bodies to ensure competence. Internal auditing is fundamental to any quality improvement initiative. A fundamental element of all Quality Management System standards is the measurement of system & process performance using a process-based approach. The method for determining this is to conduct internal audits. The standard requires that the trained auditors carry out these audits. This four-day course focuses on auditing for real quality improvement as well as compliance.

The course provides detailed training in developing the skills necessary to be an effective internal auditor using many exercises and in creating awareness of internationally accepted quality norms & procedures as per standard 15189, which is followed & accepted across the world.
