Former CM Siddaramaiah to Visit Pachanady on August 31 – Live

Mangaluru: “Former CM Siddaramaiah will come to Mangaluru and visit the Pachanady Dumping Yard on August 31. He will later visit Dharmasthala will also attend the party workers meet which will be held in Townhall at 3:00 pm”, said the District Congress President Harish Kumar in a press meet held at the DCC office Mallikatta here on August 26.

Addressing the mediapersons Harish Kumar said, “On August 31, Siddaramaiah will come to Mangaluru and visit the Pachanady dump yard at 10:00 am, he will later proceed to Dharmasthala. We have requested Siddarmaiah to visit the flood-affected area in Beltangady. Siddarmaiah will visit Beltangady and meet the people who have lost their property and houses in the recent floods. After visiting Beltangady he will visit Dharmasthala and at 3:00 pm he will come to Mangaluru and address the party workers at Town Hall.”

Addressing the mediapersons Ramanath Rai said, “Former CM Siddaramaiah will come to Mangaluru on August 31 and pay a visit to the Pachanady Dumping yard. This year due to the incessant rains many people have lost their property and houses. But the present government has failed to provide proper compensation. In many places all over the country including Karnataka heavy rains cause massive flooding and landslides taking the lives of a number of people. In spite of this, the Prime minister did not visit any flood-affected areas which is shocking”.

Earlier, the prime ministers used to visit the flood-affected areas, when Manmohan Singh was the prime minister and Yeddyurappa was the CM in Karnataka. Manmohan Singh visited Karnataka to study the situation and immediately sanctioned Rs 2000 crore for the state. It is the duty of the CM and PM to visit the district but they did not take the issue seriously. According to the media reports, PM Modi will not visit the Dakshina Kannada district which proves that the BJP is not serious in helping the people of DK. We demand the government to provide compensation to the flood-affected victims as it is the duty of the state and central government. On August 31, at the Town Hall, we will discuss the issue of the flood-affected areas and find a solution.”

When asked whether Siddaramaiah will visit only DK, Rai said that Siddaramaiah has already visited Bagalkote and will also visit other districts.

Former MLA Moideen Bava, Sashidhar Hegde, Ibrahim Kodijal, Mithun Rai, Naveen D’Souza and others were also present.
