Former Minister Ramanath Rai’s Car Collides with Bus; Personal Assistant Injured
Karkala: Former minister Ramanath Rai was involved in a road accident when the Innova car he was travelling in collided with a private bus near Sanur village on the Karkala–Moodbidri road on Sunday afternoon.

According to District Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, Rai was travelling in the car along with his personal assistant, Denzel, and a gunman when it collided with an oncoming private bus within the limits of Karkala Town Police Station.
Denzel sustained a fracture to his right leg in the accident. He was admitted to TMA Pai Hospital in Karkala for treatment. After preliminary treatment, officials arranged to shift him to Yenepoya Specialty Hospital in Mangaluru for further care.

The SP confirmed that there were no fatalities and that no one sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident.
Personnel from Karkala Town Police Station visited the accident site, gathered information, and registered a case. Further investigation is underway.
