FREE Treatment for Children by Orthopaedic & Pediatric Surgeons at KMC-Attavar
Apart from the FREE treatment during the “Bal Shalyakriya Mission (BSM)”Week from 4 – 9 February 2109, there is also Free Treatment going on presently from Experts at KMC-Attavar between Monday to Friday 10 Am to 12:30 Pm till 21st January 2019.
Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangaluru Press Club, Medical Superintendent of KMC Hospitals Mangaluru ,Dr Anand Venugopal said, “KMC Medical College Hospital Attavar, Mangaluru as its social initiative is having the 3rd year of Bal Shalyakriya Mission (BSM) Mangaluru ; an Free advanced paediatric surgical program in collaboration with Peedh Parai Foundation, Houston (U.S.A) & Bantwal Ananth Mallya charitable trust whereby children up to 16 years of age with untreated complicated surgical conditions requiring very high surgical expertise are screened freely by Orthopaedic and Pediatric Surgeons at KMC Hospital Attavar. All the identified children will be operated and treated free of cost during the BSM week from 4th February to 9th February 2019 at KMC hospital Attavar by team of Expert Paediatric surgeons from Texas Children’s Hospital Houston, U.S.A & KMC hospital Attavar-Mangaluru.
“Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) being the Major Sponsor in terms of Diagnostics & Facilities, The Cost of Medicine, Consumables as well as Food & Nutrition cost for children undergoing surgery will be borne by Bantwal Ananth Mallya Charitable Trust. As it is the 3rd Successful year of Bal Shalyakriya Mission in Karnataka, the District Health Authorities, the Health Ministry, the Health & Family Welfare Dept.-Govt. of Karnataka are well apprised of the project” added Dr Venugopal.
Dr Sadashiva Rao, Associate Professor of Paediatric Surgery KMC Mangaluru stated “We see many parents who cannot afford the advanced treatment for their children due to their financial constraints and suffer the pain their kids go through as well. However with this noble mission all such family should come forward and avail the services. Patients suffering with Anorectal malformation, Hirschsprungs disease, Vesicoureteric reflux, Puj obstruction, Thoracic congenital anomalies any mass/ccam/cle and all types of unattended / correction pediatric surgery cases can be reffered for the surgery.
Dr Surendra Kamath, Head of Department –Orthopedics said, “Based on the requests, this year we have Added Pediatric Orthopaedics in the program and explained the orthopaedic symptoms in children which can be treated under this the program . He said that kids have been screened from remote areas like Shimogga, Kodagu, Udupi, Chikmagalur, Uttara Kannada, Davangere along with Kasaragod & Kannur Districts in Kerala for BSM 2019”.
