  • Get ready to get Bit by a Mosquito? Graphics Filled Tulu Movie ‘UMIL’ hits Screen on 7 Dec at PVR Cinemas, Forum Fiza Mall at 10 am on Friday, 7 December 2018.

Mangaluru: During a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, director Ranjith Suvarna briefing the media persons said, “After lots of negotiations with the movie theatres in order to get our film released, finally we have succeeded in showing our Tulu Film “UMIL” (Mosquito) which will be screened at PVR Cinemas, Forum Fiza Mall, Mangaluru tomorrow, 7 December at 10 am. For the first time, this is a film from Coastalwood featuring lots of graphics. Úmil’ is one of the most expected Tulu films, which is made on a huge budget, involving lots of graphics, and the film has got a major boost with popular Kannada music director Ravi Basrur joining the crew. Ravi Basrur, who is currently busy working on the biggest ever film in Sandalwood, “KGF” will be composing background music for “Umil”.

“Ravi Basrur, who has made a name for himself in Sandalwood for his BGM score and also music compositions has worked on BGM for our movie “Umil”. This is Ravi Basrur’s second project in Coastalwood. In the past, he has worked on music for “Ekka Sakka”. His song Sunanda from “Ekka Sakka” is still a blockbuster and is played in all party circuits in Tulunadu. Back Ground Music, popularly known as BGM is an important aspect in the film. In the film industry, scoring BGM is not considered as important as composing music for the film. But that is wrong, as BGM is the one, which will be in the whole movie. The film has four songs. Keerthan Bhandary and Prashanth C K have written the lyrics. Well-known singer Vijayaprakash has also lent his voice for a song” added Ranjith.

Speaking to Team Mangalorean, actress Pooja Shetty said, “Umil is a complete comedy film, which is produced by Karunaker Shetty and Prajnesh Shetty under the banner of Bhavani Films, Mangaluru. Muhurat of this film was held in September 2017, and we are happy to release Umil tomorrow at PVR Cinemas at Forum Fiza Mall. This is Ranjith Suvarna’s second Tulu film, the first being “Dombaraata”. I humbly request movie goes, especially Tulu film buffs to patronize Umil and help Tulu film industry to grow and reach greater heights”.

In the film poster, Actor Aravind Bolar is shown as a mosquito (Umil) in the first look and the poster with a liquor bottle in one hand and a beedi in other. Arvind Bolar is not a mosquito in the film as shown in the poster. The director said that the connection can only be known after one watches the film after it is released tomorrow, December 7.
