Goa’s Festival Man ‘Goencho Festamkar Marius Fernandes’ Book Released in Kuwait

Kuwait: In a premiere effort in the Gulf region to promote and highlight the colourful festivities held in the different villages, hinterlands and towns that gives Goa and Goans their unique identity among the different States of India, and to coincide with yet another cultural event in Goa “The Carnival”, the book “Goencho Festamkar Marius Fernandes” was officially released in Kuwait by Fr Francisco (Franco) Pereira, SDB, Administrator of Indian English Academy School (Don Bosco) at the Holy Family Cathedral premises.

The event was organized under the auspices of Kala Mogui Kuwait (KMK) President, Dominic Araujo and Vice President Gabriel Felix Fernandes, in coordination with Gaspar Almeida. A host of dignitaries and cultural troupes attended a special programme to bid farewell to Marius Fernandes at Soccoro recently which was also attended by Gaspar Almeida. Saligao-based Clarice Vaz conceptualized the publication and Parra-based Bina Nayak designed and edited this colourful romp of a book as a tribute to the man “Goans call Festamkar (Festival Man)”.
