Government Tampered with Paresh Mesta’s post-mortem report – Vilas Nayak

Udupi: The Udupi district Vishwa Hindu Parishad president Vilas Nayak on Thursday, December 14 alleged that Paresh Mesta a Hindu Activist of Honnavar was brutally killed by Jihadi activists but the government is claiming it as normal death. Though he was murdered, the post-mortem report was tampered by the State government.

He was speaking during a protest organized by the Udupi district Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal in front of the DC office Manipal demanding a probe by NIA in the murder of Paresh Mesta in Honnavar.

Vilas Nayak further said that the government has handed over the case to the CBI but before that the department should arrest the main accused Azad Annageri the owner of Gudluck Hotel. If the government fails to arrest Azad, he will destroy all the evidence. The Siddaramaiah government and the police in Karnataka are working to protect Mesta’s alleged killers. Without the autopsy report, how can the government come to the conclusion that it was a normal death? The Government should conduct re post-mortem of Mesta in a well-established lab. The government is pressurizing the officials to give favorable reports, he added.

Although such an incident has occurred in the state, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy have not reacted on the issue. The state government is taking a anti-Hindu stand on the issue and is hurting the religious sentiments of the majority. The death of Mesta was not a natural death. Related tests should be conducted in the forensic laboratory. The police should conduct an unbiased investigation, without succumbing to any pressure, he said.

BD regional convener Sunil K R said that the government is fabricating the forensic report and hiding the murder of Mesta. The government is turning Karnataka into Kerala and claimed that this was the 20th such killing of a Hindu activist in the state. He alleged that the doctors who conducted the post-mortem had been utilized by the government to close the case.

Later the protesters submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Karnataka through the Deputy Commissioner. Additional DC Anuradha received the memorandum.

Former Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, Yashpal Suvarna, Dinesh Mendon, Shyamala Kunder, Nalini Pradeep Rao, Geetha Ravi Shet, Manju Kola and others were present.
